and a History of Craftsmanship.

Working in the building trades was a natural for me, and I've left a trail of sawdust and wood scraps behind me for years. During my first years in Sonoma I was a massage and yoga teacher as well as a handyman, and I gradually put more time into the building trades until In 1999 I became licensed as a general contractor.

My first creations were done years ago when living in Santa Barbara, where I made redwood planter boxes and furniture and sold them at the weekly arts and crafts sale along the beach. As a builder in Sonoma, I've gone on to building fences and decks, framing and finish carpentry, stone and brick masonry, and electrical and plumbing work. I have continued to round out my craft when called upon by the needs and opportunities of my business, most recently adding steel and cable railing installation to my skills. Not solely here "for the money", I'm happiest when I'm doing some needed work for people who appreciate the whole package.

"Artisan Building" now includes other talented builders who work with me from time to time when needed.

An intrinsic part of my business is repair work, addressing cosmetic and structural damage on buildings such as moisture damage and the wear and tear that comes with years of use and environmental stress.
